Dazz Dean

Formally a dancer:

Dazz formed Dazz Dean productions in 1996 as a platform for his writing. The Etcetera theatre in Camden town was where his journey away from dance began.

His first play was the “Troubled Man”, that was followed by “The Final Innings”, his last live performance was in 2019, a spoken word piece titled, “To whom it may concern.”

Along with his theatre projects Dazz had turned his attention to film making. His first video production was “Waterloo Sunset” based on a poem he had written, then came “Bar Culture”. In 2008 he made “Cappuccino & Flowers”, a short about how people meet people in a big city.

Prior to the pandemic Dazz was focusing on music, a chance meeting with musician Franc Cinelli on the Kings Road in Chelsea hastily brought this about, and after that brief encounter, Dazz enlisted Franc's productive talents at his Sound Circle studio in Chelsea.

The first track to emerge from that session was the song “Carriacou”, written about his island and intended for the tourist board of his island, to date this remains a work in progress.

The second song from those sessions was the track “Driven.”

Franc also produced the beats to the spoken word pieces of, “Black Boy”, “Croissant & Black Coffee”, “To whom it may concern”, “Definitely not Rock and Roll” and “Dirty Vegas” which was featured in his 2019 performance at the Etcetera in Camden - “Soul Boy Dreaming” is a continuation of his journey.
