I'm fifty six and I'm rocking it,

I dance all day and I'm loving it.

I grew up on soul and I'm plugging it.

I'm fifty six and I'm loving it.

My parents never got me and they regretted it,

never saw eye to eye and they're feeling it.

I did my own thing and I'm proud of it,

I always wanted to dance and I achieved at it,

Always wanted to write and I'm all over it,

My ambitions still growing and I'm proving it.

Critics say, Taylor Swift's got it but I'm not feeling it,

If Rihanna was my girl I'd put a ring on it,

I've got so much love she'd be feeling it.

I'm fifty six and I'm living it.

Maturity comes with age,

I don't react with rage and as mellow as I am,

I bring my rage to the stage,

I thank the almighty for giving me my sanity,

I'm fifty six and I'm loving it.

Is there really a God?...because,

the way the world rolls I find myself doubting it,

besides, if there really is a heaven,

at least BB King will be enjoying it,

I'm fifty six and I'm loving it.

Like Jagger and The Stones I keep rolling with it

And the soul boy in me still loves doing it,

like the vinyl player I'm a stayer, and like that iconic line in that

Marvin Gaye song - "Hey brothers what's going on?"

Even to this day that Song is a stayer and maybe

Marvin's on another planet and still crooning it

and Bowie's "Major Tom" is promoting it 'cus

that song keeps rolling on and on and on,

I'm fifty six and I'm loving it.

With my old school vibe I keep on kicking it,

life rolls on and I roll with it,

I'm fifty six and I'm loving it.

My boys T and Bass Man they gave up on it,

Bought their girls wedding rings and were done with it,

we now reminisce about the good old days,

over large chai tea latta's whilst talking about our yesterday's.

My boy Sinclair moved to Berlin to continue his pursuit of it,

I thank the almighty he's still doing it,

I hope some day to put a ring on it,

Just as long as I don't lose the thrill of it,

That will be the day I give up on it

and join Marvin and "Major Tom" on a distant planet

and reminisce about it.

I'm fifty six and I'm loving it.
